March 1, 2017Ideas To Plan a Reading
April 12, 2017On Sunday April 9th at Hugo House (1021 Columbia Street, Seattle, WA), from 4 to 6 pm, I will celebrate the release of my third collection of poetry, Truth Be Bold—Serenading Life & Death in the Age of AIDS. This book explores coming out as a long term survivor, the work I did in AIDS services for over 21 years, remembrances of the many who have passed, and the theme of survival.
Poet Jan Steckel calls this body of work, “a powerful, readable, nearly-impossible-to-put-down, boundary-crossing coming-out collection.“ These poems are from a survivor who witnessed first hand the devastation through the heart of the AIDS epidemic. The celebration will be hosted by Deborah Woodard and brings together poets, writers and AIDS educators: John Burgess, Julie Cabell, Paul Feldman, Paul Getzel, Kayt Hoch, Bruce Maeder, Pat Miglorie, Tony Radovich & Erick Seelbach. Each will read a poem from my book then I will read and there will be time for Q&A.
Please join us!
Later that week on Thursday April 13th I’ll be one of the features at It’s About Time reading series at the Ballard Library. It starts at 6 pm, I hope to see you at one of my readings.
