In the mail this week, the day I was reading at It’s About Time Reading Series, I received a Congratulations letter and FOUR Award Certificates from the Human Relations Indie Book Awards!
My book “truth be bold—Serenading Life & Death in the Age of AIDS” won in these four categories:
2018 Silver Winner Life Challenges Human Relations Indie Book;
2018 Gold Winner Personal Challenge Poetry Human Relations Indie Book,
2018 Silver Winner Medical Issues Human Relations Indie Book;
AND, Director’s Choice Award—2018 Human Relations AIDS Awareness Book of the Year;

Next up: Come hear me readint the Pond Room at the Ledding Library in Milwaukie, Oregon (near Portland), Saturday, September 15, 2018, 2 – 4 pm. We will celebrate the new Poeming Pigeon Journal themed on “In The News.” I am delighted my poem “Swept Under the Rug,” based on the CDC banned words, was accepted for this issue! It will be a fun reading!
