Frog Mo Tales
Fearing the End
The specs aren’t in the system. Your cars getting old, not too many of those around anymore, the man at Les Schwab said sitting down next to me in the rubber scented waiting room. My breath shallow for the closeness of the end of forever.
Frog Mo Grateful
Frog Mo needed a new spring for her wheel
to stop the rubbing intrusion each go-round,
thankfully in the bottom of a box in the back room
of a Napa car shop a new employee, helpful,
found a repackaged spring, exactly the right one—
if not for the generous spirit of new help it would have
had to be ordered, would have taken days. Oh alas,
the debts we owe to those willing to serve—to take
their time, even the last minutes of their day, to search
for what sometimes can be found.

I am delighted to introduce Frog Mobile, a 1978 Toyota Corolla, which I share with my partner. She came out of hiding as a secret art car on Gay Pride weekend 2007 (was it really!) when she was painted by artist Christine Doelling in pointelle style art with two tree frogs. Frog Mo is very pleased with her new status and flirts with cute sports cars on the road.
